Answer 7 :

★ Option i) 120 m, -40 m

Explanation :

Distance covered by the body = OA + AO + OB

→ Distance covered = 40 + 40 + 40

→ Distance covered = 120 m

Displacement covered = OB (shortest Distance between the initial and the final point)

→ Displacement = -40 m (In the negative direction)

Answer 8 :

★ Option 3) 80m, 0

Explanation :

Total Distance covered = Going upwards + Coming down

→ Total Distance = 40 + 40

→ Total distance = 80 m

Total Displacement = 0

Here, displacement is 0 because when the body is projected upwards it reaches back to it's initial position.

Answer 9 :

★ Option 4) H + 2H, H

Explanation :

Total Distance covered = H + H + H

→ Total Distance = 3 H

Total Displacement of the body = H

After projection it reaches to it's initial position i.e. H

Answer 10 :

★ Option a) √52 m, 26 m

Explanation :

Total Displacement = Shortest distance AB

→ (AB)² = OB² + OA²

→ (AB)² = 6² + 4²

→ AB² = 36 + 16

→ AB² = 52

AB = 52

Refer to the attachment.

Total Distance covered = 2 + 8 + 4 + 12

→ Total distance = 26 m
