Expression for gravitational force

  F∝m1m2

    ∝1/r²

 therefore, F∝m1m2/r²

                  F=Gm1m2/r²

Relation between g and G

Consider a body of mass m on the surface of the earth M and radius R. The force of attraction is given by

                      F=GMm/R²--------(1)

The force of gravity is given by

                     F=mg-------(2)

Comparing eq. 1 and 2

              mg=GMm/R²

                g=GM/R²
