taking 9 to the RHS side and changing the sign,

\rightarrow\sf \: 3( \frac{2k + 1}{k + 1}) +  \frac{7k + 3}{k + 1} = 9

multiply by 3 inside bracket now,

\rightarrow\sf \: \frac{6k + 3}{k + 1} \: +  \frac{7k + 3}{k + 1} = 9

taking LCM of denominators now,

\rightarrow\sf \: \frac{6k + 3 + 7k + 3}{k + 1} = 9 \\  \\\rightarrow\sf \:  \frac{13k + 6}{k + 1} = 9 \\  \\  \bf \: cross - multiply \\  \\ \rightarrow\sf \: 13k + 6 = 9(k + 1) \\  \\ \rightarrow\sf \: 13k + 6 = 9k + 9 \\  \\ \rightarrow\sf \: 13k - 9k = 9 - 6 \\  \\ \rightarrow\sf \: 4k =  3 \\  \\ \rightarrow\boxed{\bf \: k = \frac{3}{4}}
