Answer:

acceleration = 2m/s^2

time = 10

initial velocity= 0

i) maximum velocity = final velocity in the first 10 seconds

by formula

v= u+at

v=o+ 2*10

v= 20 m/s

ii) retardation

time =50 seconds

initial velocity = 20m/s

final velocity = 0

then by formula

v=u-at

0=20-a*50

-20=-50a

a=-20/-50

a=0.4 m/s^2

retardation = 0.4 m/s^2

iii) total distance

for 10 seconds

by formula v^2=u^2+2aS

20^2=0+2*2*S

400=4S

S=400/4

S=100 m

then for 200 seconds

by speed formula

distance= speed*time

distance= 20*200

distance=4000 m

then for the 50 s

by formula v^2=u^2-2*a*S

0=20^2-2*0.4*S

-400=-0.8S

S= -400/-0.8

S=500 m

then the total distance = 500+100+4000

=4600 m
