Solution:
2x^2 - px + 4 = 0 when x=1
Therefore, 2 × 1^2 - p × 1 + 4 = 0
or 2 - p + 4 = 0
or p = 6
Check:
2x^2 - 6x + 4 = 0
dividing the above equation by 2, we get
x^2 - 3x + 2 = 0
(x - 2) (x - 1) = 0
Therefore, x = 2
& x = 1.
Hence, value of p should be 6.
