Solution :

1. A farmer want to fence his park of length 40 m and breadth 20 m at cost of ₹10 per m. Find the total cost .

The length of the field is 40 m.

The breadth of the field is 20m .

Perimeter of the park :

> 2( Length +  Breadth )

> 2( 40 m + 20m )

> 120 m .

The perimeter of this park comes out to be 120m. The cost of fencing it is Rs. 10 per m .

Total cost of fencing the park is Rs. 1200

2. A square have an area of 100 cm^2.  Find its perimeter

Let us assume that the square has a side length of x cm .

Area of the square :

> x^2 .

But, its 100 cm^2 .

Hence

> x^2 = 100

> x = 10 cm.

Perimeter of square = 4 x Side = 10 x 4 = 40 cm..

3. Find the area of triangular field whose side is 8 m ,15 m,17 m.

For this triangular field

Side 1 = 8 m

Side 2 = 15 m

Side 3 = 17 m.

This can be done using the heron' s formula but on closer inspection, we can see that 8, 15 and 17 are all Pythagorean triplets .

Thus this is a right angled triangle  .

Area = 1/2 * Base * Height

> 1/2 x 8 x 15

> 60 m^2 .

4. Find the circumference of circle whose diameter is 14 cm

The circumference of a circle is π d .

> 14 π cm

> 14 x 22/7

> 22 x 2

> 44  cm.
