Area of square = (side)²
= 7²,,,,= 49cm²
...Area of square = 49cm².

Now Area of each quadrant =

$\frac{22}{7} \times 3.5 \times 3.5 \times \frac{1}{4}$
=
$9.625cm^{2}$

Area of 4 quadrants = 4 x 9.625
= 38.5cm²
.
Area of shaded region
= Area of square - Area of 4 quadrants
= 49 - 38.5
= 10.5 cm²
