Area of trapezium = 1/2*h*(a+b)

h = height = BP

a and b are the parallel sides.

So let a = AB = 20 cm and b = CD = 25 cm

To find BP, consider the right angled triangle BCP,

BC² = BP² + CP²

CP = 25 - 20 = 5

So, BP = √(BC² - CP²) = √(13² - 5²) = √(169 - 25) = √144 = 12 cm

Area of trapezium ABCD = 1/2*12*(20+25) = 6*45 = 270 cm²
