5.when the litmus paper enters water it stays non coloured or neutral.when it is added to another sol if it is acidic it turns red.and when it is basic it turns blue.

dip red litmus paper in all the three test tubes. the one which changes it's colour to blue contains basic solution. now dip this blue litmus paper to each of the test tubes. the one which changes it's colour to red is acidic solution, other one is distilled water.

Those compounds which dissociate H^{+}H+ions when current is passed through them are called as acids.Though C2H5OH ,C6H12O6 contain hydrogen atoms they do not dissociate into H^{+}H+ ions.So,they are not acids and thus do not show acidic character.
But HCl and HNO3 dissociate into H^{+}H+ions.So,they show acidic character.
From this we can conclude that all the compounds containing hydrogen are not acids.
