Y + 130 = 180
Therefore y = 180-130 = 50 degrees

X + Y + 68 = 180
As y = 50
X + 50 + 68 = 180
X = 180 - 118
X = 62 degrees

Find the value of x and y in the following figure:

➼ Linear Pair angles add up to 180°

➼ Sum of all angles in a triangle is 180°

Finding the value of y

130° + y = 180° (Linear Pair)

y = 180-130

y = 50°

Finding the value of x

In Triangle ABC,

∠A +  ∠B +  ∠C = 180° (Angle Sum Property)

x + 68° + y = 180°

x + 68+  50 = 180

x = 180-118

x = 62
