X^2-2/2x7x/2 =  -3/2

X^2-2 /2x7 x/2+(7/4)^2=  -3/2+(7/4)^2

(X-7/4)^2  =-3/2 +49/16

(X-7/4)^2 =25/16

X-7/4=   -5/4

x= +5/4 +7/4

X=12/4=3

Also

X=-5/4+7/4

2/4=1/2

Hence x=3 and 1/2
