x  < 16/3   , left of 16/3 is the solution for 9x-7<25+3x

Given:

  • 9x-7<25+3x

To Find:

  • Represent the solution of number line

Solution:

9x-7 <25+3x

Step 1 :

Add 7 on both side

9x-7 + 7<25+3x + 7

=> 9x  < 32 + 3x

Step 2 :

Subtract 3x on both sides

9x-7 + 7<25+3x + 7

=> 9x -3x < 32 + 3x - 3x

=> 6x < 32

Step 3 :

Divide by 6 on both sides

x < 32/6

Reduce the fraction.

=> x  < 16/3

x ∈ (-∞ , 16/3)

Draw a line and mark some points at equal distance on it as shown in the figure below  Mark a point as zero on it. Points to the right of zero are positive integers and are marked simply 1, 2, 3  and so on , while points to the left of zero are negative integers and are marked – 1, – 2, – 3 and so on

Divide two consecutive numbers in 3 equal parts

Dot on 16/3 is not solid as its not part of solution

Hence left of 16/3 is the solution:
