to prove : ar(ABC)/ar(DBC)=ao/do
construction : draw AE perpendicular to BC and DF perpendicular to BC
in triangle AEO and triangle bDFO
angle AOE =angle DOF
angle AEO = angle DFO
by AA triangle are similar
by cpst AE/DF=AO/DO
now, ar ABC/ar DBC = BC *AE/BC*DF=AE/DF
therefore ar traingle ABC/ar traingle DEF=AO/DO
hence proved
