Answer:

Firstly find the area of rectangle ABCD

i. e length ×breadth

7×13

= 91

Ar of triangle AEG

1/2×BASE ×HEIGHT

1/2×4×7

=14

Similarly

Ar of triangle BFG

1/2 ×3×6

=9

NOW

Area of CDEF

=(AR of ABCD) - (AR of AEG + ar of BFG)

= 91 - (14+9)

=91-23

= 68 sq unit

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of rectangle is length(l) × breadth(b)

l= 7+6= 13cm

b= 4+3= 7cm

*l×b = 13×7= 91cm^2

Area of triangle EAG= 1/2{base(b) ×height(h) }or

b×h /2 ,

b= 4

h= 7

*b×h/2= 4×7/2 = 14cm,

Area of triangle FBG= b×h/2 = 3×6/2 =9cm

Area of shaded portion = Area of rectangle - Area of two triangles

i.e., Area of (ABCD) - Area of( EAG+FBG)

Area of shaded portion= 91 - (14+9)

= 91 - 23

= 68

THEREFORE THE AREA OF SHADED PORTION IS 68CM^2
