an embryo sac is formed by the process of megasporogeneis.

in this process

there are cells known as nucelus which act as mother cell.

it undergoes meiosis and forms 4 megaspore called megaspore tetrad.

out of 4 megaspore 3 degenerates and the remaining one forms the embryo sac.

so from one megaspore one embryo sac is produced.
