Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

(3/4)x -(2/3)y = 1

(3/8)x -(1/6)y = 1

To find :-

Solve the equations by substition method ?

Solution :-

Given equations are :

(3/4)x -(2/3)y = 1

LCM of 4 and 3 = 12

=>[ (3×3)x - (2×4)y ]/12 = 1

=> (9x -8y)/12 = 1

=> 9x -8y = 1×12

=> 9x -8y = 12 ------------(1)

=> 9x = 12+8y

=> x = (12+8y)/9 --------(2)

and

(3/8)x -(1/6)y = 1

LCM of 8 and 6 = 24

=>[ (3×3)x - (1×4)y ]/24 = 1

=> (9x -4y)/24 = 1

=> 9x -4y = 1×24

=> 9x -4y = 24 ------------(3)

On Substituting the value of x in (3) from (2) then

=> 9[(12+8y)/9] -4y = 24

=> (12+8y) -4y = 24

=> 12+8y-4y = 24

=> 12+4y = 24

=> 4y = 24-12

=> 4y = 12

=> y = 12/4

=> y = 3

On Substituting the value of y in (2) then

x = (12+8y)/9

=> x = (12+8(3))/9

=> x = (12+24)/9

=>x = 36/9

=> x = 4

So , x = 4 and y = 3

Answer:-

The solution for the given problem is (4,3)

Check :-

If x = 4 and y = 3 then

LHS = (3/4)x -(2/3)y

=> (3/4)(4) -(2/3)(3)

=> 3-2

=> 1

=> RHS

LHS = RHS is true for x = 4 and y = 3

and

LHS = (3/8)x -(1/6)y

=> (3/8)(4)-(1/6)(3)

=> (3/2)-(1/2)

=> (3-1)/2

=> 2/2

=>1

=> RHS

=> LHS = RHS is true for x=4 and y=3

Verified the given relations in the given problem.
