south-it is not possible to isolate north and south

poles

2.Like poles repel each other. Therefore, when north

pole of a magnet is brought near North pole of

suspended magnet, the magnets with repel each

other and the suspended magnet will move away

from the other magnet.

3.Substances that are attracted by a magnet are

called magnetic substances. Example: Iron,

cobalt, nickel, etc. Substances that are not

attracted by a magnet are called non-magnetic

etc.

4.The impoirtant properties of a magnet are:

Magnet has two poles - South pole and North

pole.

Poles of magnet cannot be isolated.

Like poles repel each other and unlike poles

attract each other.

Freely suspended magnet aligns is N-S

direction.

5.1)When we take two rod in contact with another iron or metal, the magnet attract iron particle but iron rod doesn't attract.
