now in order to check the answers in (1). put x = 1/2 in (6x-1)/8

we get {6*(1/2)-1)/8 = (3-1)/8 = 2/8 = 1/4 -------- this is left hand side of the equation i.e LHS

now clearly LHS is 1/4 and on right hand side of the equation we have 1/4

so LHS = RHS

so our solution is correct.
