Twice of the number = 2x

Three times of the number= 3x

Now, A/Q

Twice a no. increased by 5 is the same as the three times the number decreased by 8.

2x + 5 = 3x - 8

   -  > 5 + 8 = 3x - 2x

 -  > 13 = x

Therefore,the number (x) is 13.
