Given:

The angles of the triangle :

(2x+20)°, 3x°, (5x - 40)°

To find:

The angles and the perimeter of the triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • As, we know sum of all the angles of a triangle is equals to 180°.
  • ∴  We can say  (2x+20)° + 3x° + (5x - 40)° = 180°
  •  (2x + 20 + 3x + 5x - 40)° = 180°
  •  ( 10x - 20)° = 180°
  •  10x° = 180° + 20°
  •  10x° = 200°
  •  x = 20°
  • Now, we can put the value of x in given angles,
  • (2x+20)°  = (40 + 20)°  = 60°
  • 3x° = 60°
  • (5x - 40)° = (100 - 40)°  = 60°

So, the angles are 60° , 60°  and 60° .

As, all the angles are same it is a equilateral triangle, which has all sides equal.

Let us say, the length of a side of triangle is s,

Then the perimeter of the triangle will be s + s + s i.e., 3s.
