• Na +1 - +1
• OH -1 - -1
• NH4 +1 - +1

Features of the periodic table

• The modern periodic table has 7 horizontal rows called periods and 18 vertical columns called groups.
• All the elements of a period have the same number of shells while those in a group have same number of valence electrons.
