Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

et the sanjay's brother age be = 2x

Let Sanjay's age be = x

In next 6 years

(x+6) = 3/5(2x+6)

5(x+6)= 6x+18

6x-5x=30-18

1x=12

x=12/1=12

Sanjay is now 1/2 as old as his brother. In 6 year he will be 3/5 as old as his brother then what is the present age of each boy?

Let Sanjay's present age be x

Let his brother's present age be y

x = y/2

x+6 = (3(y+6))/5

since x = y/2, we can substitute that in the first equation.

y/2 + 6 = (3y+18)/5

(y+12)/2 = (3y+18)/5

5(y+12) = 2(3y+18)

5y + 60 = 6y + 36

6y - 5y = 60 - 36

y = 24

is y = 24 then,

x = y/2

x = 24/2

x = 12

answer: Sanjay is 12 years old and his brother is 24.
