Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

p(x)= 2x^2 - 4x + 5

so here a = 2

b = -4

c = 5

Product of zeroes αβ = c/a = 5/2

sum of zeroes = α + β = -b/a = -(-4)/2 = 2

now,

(i) α^2 + β^2

α + β = 2   (proved)

square both sides

(α + β)^2 = (2)^2                      using identity  (a+b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab

α^2 + β^2 + 2αβ = 4

put αβ = 5/2

α^2 + β^2 + 2* 5/2 = 4               [cancel 2 and 2]

α^2 + β^2 = 4-5

ans___α^2 + β^2 = -1\

rest of it i dont know sorry
