Answer:

hey here is your solutiom

pls mark it as brainliest

so here we go

Step-by-step explanation:

now here we have to apply concept of arithmetic progression

so here it is said that rs 500 were charged by owner for first hour

this means that the first term would be 500

now moreover after each remaining hours he charged rs 50 less than preceding hour

so the difference between each hour would be constant ie equal

so as common difference is constant

it forms a sequence of ap ie arithmetic progression

so for above ap

a=t1=500 tn=250 d=-50

we have to find no of hours the passenger took a ride ie value of n

so use formula tn=a+(n-1)d

so 250=500+(n-1)×(-50)

=500-50n+50

=550-50n

ie 50n=300

ie n=6

hence the passenger took a ride for 6 hours

u can verify the answer by so just see that they are telling us that the final bill was rs 250

so the cart roder charged rs 500 for first hour

and then just subtract -50 6 times from 550

if you get 250 as answer our answer is ryt then
