The gymnosperms, also known as Acrogymnospermae, are a group of seed-producing plants that includes conifers, cycads, Ginkgo, and gnetophytes. The non-encased condition of their seeds stands in contrast to the seeds and ovules of flowering plants (angiosperms), which are enclosed within an ovary.

Short note gymnosperms

e.g.Pinus, cycas and other coniferous trees are gymnosperms. *Gymnosperms are seed producing, non-flowering plants whose seeds are naked. *Gymnosperms have their reproductive structures in the form of cones. *Some gymnosperms like ginkgoes bear fruit like structures .
