Dear friend,
I am extremely sorry! I had been really rude to you just for a small thing. I did not even think in how you would feel. I regret my mistake and I am writing this letter to apologise.
I can understand how you feel. I promise that I will never behave in such a way again. You are my best friend, who had been with me for years. I am sure you will apologise me.
Again I want to say, I am sorry. I am really sad. I could not sleep yesterday. Now I have a slight relief. Please forgive me!
THANK YOU

My dear Mani Ratnan,
I cannot rest until I asked your forgiveness for what happened yesterday. You were all just joking in the common room when I entered and said, "How did you forget the dissimilarity between humility and 'humiliation'? This was in context of your comments welcoming the Chief Guest, when instead of saying "with all my humility...", you said, "with all my humiliation..." I understand this was a slip of tongue, but I did not know that other boys had been making fun of you. So when I entered the room I just said in a jocular mood. I never meant to disparage you. Whatever it be, I am extremely sorry, I shouldn't have said it. I realize it was my folly. I am to be blamed. I sincerely regret the unpleasant incident.
I have learnt from someone that you intend breaking off with me. How could this be possible after ten years of friendship? I know some boys are poisoning your years against me. They feel jealous about our long time brought-up friendship.
I realize what it is to lose a friend. So, dear Kamal, let us forget it and you forgive me. I sincerely apologize.
Yours regretful,
G. Chitambram
