Hi ,
Here I am using A instead of alfa,
**********************************
We know that ,
1 ) Distance from a point ( x , y ) to the
origin ( 0 , 0 ) = √ x² + y²
2 ) cos² A + sin² A = 1
**********************************
Now ,
Distance from the point
( x , y ) = ( a cosA , a sinA ) to the
origin ( 0 , 0 )
= √ ( a cosA )² + ( a sinA )²
= √ a² cos² A + a² sin² A
=√ a² ( cos² A + sin² A )
= √a²
= a
I hope this helps you.
