In the above Question , the following information is given -

The arithmetic mean of 67 values is 35 .

Now , each of these values are multiplied by 4 .

To find -

We have to find the mean of the new values .

Solution -

Here ,

The arithmetic mean of 67 values is 35 .

So.

[ Sum Of 67 Values ] / [ 67 ] = 35

=> Sum of the 67 values -

=> 67 × 35

=> 2345 .

Now ,

Each of the given Values are multiplied by 4 .

So ,

New Sum -

=> 67 × [ Sum of the 67 Values ]

=> 67 × 2345

=> 157115

So ,

The sum of the new 67 values is 157115 .

Now ,

New Mean -

=> [ New Sum ] / [ 67 ]

=> [ 157115 ] / [ 67 ]

=> 2345 .

So, the mean of the new values is 2345 .

This is the required answer.

Given

The arithmetic mean of 67 values is 35.

To Find

The arithmetic mean of the 67 values if each of the values is multiplied by 4.

Solution

Let the sum of the 67 values be x.

A/q,

x/67 = 35

⇒ x = 35 × 67

⇒ x = 2345

___________________

→ When each term was increased by 4 times,

Mean = New sum/67

⇒Mean = 4x/67

• New sum = (4 × sum of the 67 terms)

⇒Mean = (4 × 2345)/67

⇒Mean = 9380/67

⇒Mean = 140
