Movie in 1912➡Shree Pundalik, which was released on 18 May 1912 at the Coronation Cinematograph, Girgaum, Mumbai, is recognised as the first feature-length Indian film. Shree Pundalik was produced and directed by Dadasaheb Torne alias Rama Chandra Gopal

Movie in 1918➡The success of Lanka Dahan encouraged many enthusiasts to pursue a career in filmmaking, since it had now assured them of financial viability. In 1918, South India got its first film, Keechaka Vadham, produced, directed and edited by R Nataraja Mudaliar. Based on a legend from Mahabharata, this movie had a Tamil cast, hence it became the first silent Tamil film.
