Question -

Find the values of the angles x, y and z in the given figure -

Figure - See the attachment .

I have named the various points .

Solution -

Here , the following values of the angles in given -

Angle AOB = 45°°

Angle EOD = 45°

To find -

Find the values of X, y and z

Solution -

Observe the figure carefully .

DB is a straight line.

So , all the angles on that straight line form a linear pair , i.e, are supplementary.

So , we can say that -

Angle EOD + Angle EOA + Angle AOB = 180°

Substituting the given Values of Angle EOD and angle AKB in this given equation , we get the following outcome -

45 ° + x + 45° = 180°

=> x + 90° = 180°

=> x = 90°

This is the first answer.

Now, See the line EOC

Here, all the angles on that straight line form a linear pair , i.e, are supplementary.

So ,

Angle EOD + Angle DOC = 180°

Angle EOD = 45°

=> Angle DOC = 180° - 45° = 135°

So , angle y = 135°

This is the second answer

Now, See the line BOD

Here, all the angles on that straight line form a linear pair , i.e, are supplementary.

So.,

y + z = 180°

=> 135° + z = 180°

=> z = 180° - 135° = 45°

Answer -

The required values of X, y and z are 90°, 135° and 46° respectively .

This is the required answer .
