Please help.

Today i got my math exam results, and one of the question i was sure was correct is wrong. I just wanted to confirm if i'm wrong or the teacher accidentally did that. the question is (its very simply decimal question):

What should be subtracted from 7.654 to get 0.801?
what i did: Added these both and i got 8.455. I even checked 8.455- 7.654 is, and it was clearly 0.801. But the teacher cut 2 marks(it was 2 mark question). Maybe im just wrong, please say if im right or wrong.
