Length of  opposite sides are equal.

⇒ 2x + y + 8 = 4x - y

⇒ 2x - 4x + y + y + 8 = 0

⇒ -2x + 2y + 8 = 0

⇒ x - y = 4

(ii)

Opposite sides are equal.

⇒ 2y = x + 4

⇒ x - 2y = -4

On Solving (i) & (ii), we get

x - y = 4

x - 2y = -4

Substitute y = 8 in (ii), we get

⇒ x - 2y = -4

⇒ x - 16 = -4

⇒ x = 12

Length = 2x + y + 8 = 40

Breadth = 2y = 16.

∴ Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

                    = 2(40 + 16)

                    = 112

∴ Area = Length * Breadth

            = 40 * 16

            = 640 sq.units

Therefore:

x = 12, y = 8

Length = 40

Breadth = 16

Perimeter = 112 units

Area = 640 sq.units
