Let the number of students in the class be x
Number of boys in the class = 40/100 * x
= 2/5x
Number of girls in the class = x - 2/5x
= 3/5x
ATQ, 2/5x - 4 = 4/7 * (3/5x - 4)
⇒ 2/5x - 4 = 12/35x - 16/7
⇒ 2/5x - 12/35x = -16/7 + 4
⇒ 2/35x = 12/7
⇒ x = 12/7 * 2 * 1/35
⇒ x = 24/245
This is the correct answer according to the data given in the question
But now even I am confused how there can be people in fraction.
