DNA polymerase always synthesize DNA in 5' to 3' direction.
Lagging strand is one of the two strands of DNA being produced during the process of replication. It is the strand that is synthesised in a discontinuous manner because it requires many RNA primers to be added at the template as the opening of replication fork is in the opposite direction to that of the synthesis of lagging strand ( since the template orientation is 5' to 3'). In other words, DNA polymerase perform replication of lagging strand in the opposite direction to the movement of folk.
