K is equal to any number except 2

Step-by-step explanation:

here go coincident line means intercepting or dependent lines so if

  • a1/a2 not equal to b1/b2 or
  • a1/a2=b1/b2 but not eual to c1/c2

then only we will get coincident line

Answer:

Here, the value of k=2

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, According to question,

Lines are coincident, so, as it is considered this equation has infintely many solutions, so,we have to take the equations as, (a1/a2=b1/b2=c1/c2)

So, now here,

=a1=3, a2=6

=b1=(-1), b2=(-k)

=c1=8, c2=16[On transposing -16 to either side, it becomes positive(in addition)]

=Now, For solving it, we would take numbers as =(a1/a2=b1/b2) and(b1/b2=c1/c2)

=3/6=(-1)/(-k) and=(-1)/(-k)=8/16

=1/2=1/k and =1/k=12

=k=2 and =k=2 (On cross- multiplying)

So, the value of k=2 ( Answer).

Thank you.
