Given :   mx-6y=10 , 2x-ny=5 , m and n are constant. and system has infinitely many solutions,

To find : what is the value of m/n

Solution:

a₁x + b₁y +  c₁ = 0

a₂x + b₂y + c₂ = 0

system of equations have infinite solution

if  a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂  = c₁ /c₂

mx-6y=10  =>  mx  - 6y  - 10  = 0

2x-ny=5    =>  2x   - ny   - 5  = 0

=>  m/2   =  (-6)/(-n)  =  -10/(-5)

=>  m/2  =  6/n   =   2

m/2 = 2  => m = 4

6/n = 2  => n = 3

 m/n  = 4/3

value of m/n = 4/3
