\large\mathcal{\underbrace{SOLUTION:-}}

Here,

✍️ Tension acts on the string in upward direction .

✍️ And gravitational force acts on the block in downward direction .

Let,

  • Tension = T

✍️ For mass m1 ,

\rm{\implies\:T\:-\:m_1g\:=\:m_1a\:} -----(1)

✍️ And for mass m2 ,

\rm{\implies\:m_2g\:-\:T\:=\:m_2a\:} -------(2)

✴️ adding Equation (1) and (2), we get

\rm{\implies\:(m_2\:-\:m_1)\:g=\:(m_1\:+\:m_2)\:a\:}

\rm{\implies\:a\:=\:\dfrac{(m_2\:-\:m_1)\:g}{(m_1\:+\:m_2)}\:}

\rm{\implies\:a\:=\:\dfrac{(6\:-\:3)\times{10}}{(6\:+\:3)}\:}

\rm{\implies\:a\:=\:\dfrac{30}{9}\:}

\rm{\purple{\implies\:a\:=\:(\dfrac{10}{3}\:m/s^2)\:or\:(3.33\:m/s^2)\:}}
