I am taking alpha as a

and beta as b for ease of calculation here

you have to show that (a+1)*(b+1) = 1-c

a*b + (a+b) +1 = 1-c

a*b +(a+b) = -c

now a*b = -c-p ( product of roots of quadratic equation)

and a+b = p

therefore

-c-p+p = -c

-c = -c

hence proved

Let alpha = a
Beta = b

We have to show that (a+1)*(b+1) = 1-c

a*b + (a+b) +1 = 1-c

a*b +(a+b) = -c

now a*b = -c-p ( product of roots of quadratic equation)
and a+b = p
therefore
-c-p+p = -c
-c = -c

hence proved
