• Roots play a vital function of absorbing water and minerals.
• If roots are cut plants won't be able to absorb water and minerals.
• Without water and minerals plants won't be able to carry out the regular metabolic activities .
• Important Processes like photosynthesis , transpiration and transportation doesn't occur in plant.
• If plants doesn't undergo photosynthesis they can't prepare their food.
• Hence plant wilt and die out of starving when it's roots are cut .
