Trees are essential for the survival of life on Earth. Trees are an integral part of human existence, and we cannot imagine our planet Earth without trees. Forests are a precious natural resource given to mankind and provide us with myriad things. We get flowers, herbs, fruit, vegetables, medicine, wood and many other products from trees. And most importantly, they also clean the air which we need to breathe. Hence, we must save trees to save our nature.

Reasons Why Should We Save Trees

Trees produce food for animals and humans in the form of fruits, berries and vegetables. We can eat this product as it is or cook it to make various dishes. Trees are also a source of herbs, which are used in the preparation of food. Some herbs and other tree products also have medicinal value. We use these products to manufacture medicine for many ailments. Plant extracts are also used to make supplements that provide us with essential micronutrients. Another use of trees is in deriving wood from the branch or trunk of trees. This wood is used to make houses, furniture and many other products. Without wood, it would not be possible to construct houses and buildings. Wood is also used to make paper. Wood is made into pulp by combining it with water and some chemicals. This pulp is then processed to make paper. So, trees provide us with many things that we need in our daily life.

Trees play a significant role in cleaning the air we breathe. They absorb carbon dioxide in the air and use it for photosynthesis to make their food. The by-product of photosynthesis is oxygen which the trees release into the air, making it more breathable for animals and human beings. In this way, trees provide us with clean, oxygen-rich air to breathe. Trees also help in maintaining the water cycle through the process of transpiration. In this process, water is released from the leaves of trees and evaporates in the form of water vapour. These water vapours combine to make clouds, and the clouds cause rainfall. In this manner, the water cycle is maintained by the trees.
