Given:

3 , 5 , 7 ,9 ,11.... are in AP

To find :

• i) nth term ii) 16th term

Solution :

i) nth term

As we know that :

=> nth term = a + (n - 1)d

• a= 3 and d = 5-3 = 2

=> nth term = 3 + (n-1) 2

=> nth term = 2n +1

ii) 16th term

=> 3 + ( 16-1)2

=> 3 + 15×2

=> 3 + 30

=> 33.
