The Accidental tourist is a narrative by Bill Bryson.
There are many humorous incidents in the narrative. Bill Bryson is an unorganized person at travelling. This results in many accidents, by which he is put to shame many times. But Bryson brings out these incidents in a light hearted manner.
Once he searches for his misplaced miles card and accidentally litters all his personal contents of his carry-on bag, on the airport floor. He smashes his finger with the zip of his bag and becomes hysteric at the sight of his blood. But he justifies his reactions in a humorous way.
In one instance he has been sucking his pen thoughtfully, which had resulted in spreading of navy blue ink on his mouth, lips, teeth and tongue. He remarks at himself saying that, he must be looking like a clown.
Once he knocked a soft drink over the lady sitting next to him. The flight attendant cleaned the mess and brought another drink, which was also knocked over, by Bryson on to the same woman again.
In one instance he produced his card but his name in the card, did not match the name in the ticket and so he did not get a free first class flight to Bali.
