Answer:

side AB= AE + EB= 18cm

side AD= AF+ FD= 10cm

side BC=AD &

side AB=DC

we know that if a rectangle and a triangle have same base and height, then the area of triangle is equal to half the area of rectangle.

Area of Rectangle= base × height

= AD × DC

= 10×18

= 180 cm^2

Therefore area of triangle = 1/2 × 180

= 90cm^2

Therefore the area of the shaded portion is 90cm^2.
