Santosh bought 400 eggs for 1500 rupees and spent 300 in transportation
so,he paid 1500+300 rupees for 400 eggs
400eggs = 1800 rupees
50 eggs fell down
so, remaining eggs =400-50 =350
he sell eggs at rupees 5
so,350×5 = 1750 rupees
cost price is more than selling price
cost price-selling price
1800-1750
50
so,he got loss of 50 rupees
so,he paid 1500+300 rupees for 400 eggs

400 eggs for Rs 1500
Therefore 1 egg = 1500/400 = 15/4 = Rs.3.75
50 eggs broke so 50 * 3.75 = Rs 187.5 lost
So to earn profit he must sell more than 1500 + 187.5 = 1687.5
So he sold remaining eggs for Rs 5 each
Remaining eggs = 400 - 50 = 350
So 350 * 5 = 1750
Since he sold more than the CP including the losses, He gained a profit.
Profit% = Profit / CP *100 = 62.5 / 1687.5 *100 = 3.7%
So he earned a profit of 3.7%
Hope it helps!!
