Answer for question 5

Given that ratio of engineers to doctors is 2:5

(i) now lets say there are 2a engineers and 5a doctors

therefore if number of engineers = 18 = 2a

then a = 9

therefore number of doctors = 5 x a = 5 x 9 = 45

(ii) now if number of doctors is 65 = 5a

then a = 13

therefore number of engineers = 2a = 2 x 13 = 26

Answer for question 6

given the ratio is 3:1

therefore we can assume the angles to be 3y and y

(i) given that smaller angle = 180

comparing the angles y is smaller than 3y

hence the larger angle is 3 times the smaller angle

which is = 3y = 3 x 180 = 540

(ii) given that larger angle = 3y = 63

hence smaller angle = y = 63/3 = 21
