to count the number of sigma and pi bonds if you have already drawn the structure of the compound.
All single bonds will always be a sigma bond
In a double bond one of the bond is always a sigma and other one a pi bond.
In a triple bond one of the bond is sigma and the other two are pi bonds.

FORMULA = (VALENCE ELECTRON + - charge) ÷ 8
★ TO find number of lone pair
Formula = Remainder ÷ 2
1) N2
→ Valence electron = 5+5 = 10
★ number of sigma bond = 10/8 = 1
【 remainder =2】
● lone pair = 2/2 = 1
● number of pi bond =
since, vale e- of each N is 5
1 e- participate in sigma bond
2 e- in lone pair
◆ Remaning 2 e- in pi bond.
so, number of pi bond = 2
similarly, you can find number of pi, sigma and lone pair in O2
→ for, N2+ and O2+ ....
and H containing compound you hav to draw structure.
