Perimeter of square = 4* side
=4*40 cm = 160 cm

Perimeter of rectangle = Perimeter of square = 160 cm

2(l + b) = 160 cm
2( 50 + b) =160
50+b = 80
b = 80-50
b = 30 cm.

Area of square = side * side
= 40*40 cm^2
= 1600 cm^2

Area of rectangle = l* b
= 50*30 cm^2
= 1500 cm^2

So square have more area.

ATQ

2(l+b)=4*side
2(50+b)=4*40
100+2b=160
2b=60
b=30cm

Area of rectangle =l*b
=50*30
=1500cm^2

Area of square =side*side
=40 *40
=1600cm^2

Hence square has larger area
