Answer:

This first lesson "launches" the unit by examining how the space environment differs from Earth. The three major differences are: atmosphere (vacuum in space), radiation (high level of dangerous particles), and gravity (weightlessness in space). The first difference between the Earth and space is the atmosphere.

  • Time is a measure of change in size of objects or a measure of change in distance between objects. Time is also a measure of existence of objects in the universe. To know time, we compared one change with another. Speed of light is a change. An event is a change. Oscillation of a cesium atom is a change. Existence is an event and time. We mostly follow earthly time i.e. second, minute, hour, day, year. This time is based on changes occurring around us on the surface of the Earth i.e. sunrise, sunset, summer, fall, winter, spring. These changes are related to motion of the Earth on its orbital path around the Sun and also around its own axis. This time is set by the Earth and the Sun only. It does not dilate or stop at any speed. It is not relative either. if some one measure length of day and year on the Earth from many light years away, it will match with ours. Time or change is very unique on specific object. In fact, there are aa many changes or timers as there are objects in the universe. The speed of light is 300,000 km per earth second. The universe is 13.8 billion earth years old. There are 9 billion oscillations of a cesium atom in one earth second.

  • Space is infinite without its center or boundaries. It is eternal. It exists. It is continuous through out the universe. It has no beginning or ending. There is no east-west, north-south or up-down in space. There is no grid of points in space. Space is not affected by anything in the universe. There is no change in space. There is no sunrise, sunset or changing seasons in space. Special dimensions X, Y and Z are not meant for space, but are meant for objects. There is no time in space. Time is not related to space. Speed is not space divided by time. Speed is distance divided by time. Space is not distance and distance is not speed. Distance is length of line between points on or in objects in space. Line is not space.

  • We extend earthly time into space. There is no difference as there is no time in space. There are other changes we cam follow to measure time, But they are no practical i.e. speed of light, oscillations of cesium atom. Earthly time is the only time we follow. There is no other time. Scientists may talk hours about time, but they come back to earthly time at the end. If one understands earthly time, he understands all times.
