cosec^2 - sec^2 )/ cosec^2 + sec^2

= cos^2 - sin^2)/ cos^2 + sin^2

as cos^2 + sin^2 = 1

so cos^2 - sin^2

As it's equivalent to cos 2 theta

as cos 2 theta = (1- tan^2)/ 1 + tan^2

So ( 1 -3)/ 1 + 3 = -2/4 = -1/2
