the literary conflict seen in the poem "television" is the conflict between television and books.

the poet is strictly against television and request parents never to let children near television or to never install it he also ask them to replace the television set with book shelves. he is loved with books and hatred with television. his hatred towards television can know by the words he used in the poem i.e 'idiotic thing' 'monster' 'nauseating' 'foul'. hs love for book can be know by the phrase he used in the poem "oh boy! oh boy! oh boy! what books they were". he argue with parents to throw the television set away and answer all their question.
